Driven by a personal journey of long-term recovery, Doug has a profound commitment to using his own experiences to support and inspire others. This dedication, combined with a profound health scare in 2017, propelled him into the realm of nonprofit work, where he founded an organization focused on promoting recovery and wellness. He has since collaborated with leading behavioral health and community-based nonprofits to expand their reach and impact.
Doug's passion for helping others extends beyond his professional endeavors. He proudly serves on the advisory board of his alma mater, the Hart School of Hospitality, Sport, and Recreation Management at James Madison University, where he was honored with the prestigious Dolley Madison Award in 2015 for his contributions to the program. In 2024, Doug was inducted into the Hart School Hall of Fame, recognizing his outstanding achievements and ongoing dedication to his field.
