Meet Peter H.
Peter with his wife Annie and their daughter Zoey at the MN Vikings game!
Peter (AKA Prairie Pete) got sober as a teenager and found Fully Vested Recovery Movement in 2021. Check out a snippet of his story!
Get to know Peter H. What do you do for a living?
I have an awesome job with the University of Minnesota Foundation - in Medicine and Health focused on Philanthropy; I am the Director of Development for Neurosciences and Healthy Aging. I get to raise funds for any cause that has to do with the brain! So, I help raise funds related to Autism, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, etc. and near and dear to my heart is Mental Health and Addiction research and care.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my beautiful wife Annie and my daughter Zoey who is 5 and just started Kindergarten this year. I love when I can get to a Fully Vested event and I also make my own beef jerky - hence the Prairie Pete!
How did you get involved with Fully Vested Recovery Movement?
I got involved with Fully Vested Recovery Movement through a mutual friend, Kate and I share. She had told me about these workouts and community for some time and I finally bit the bullet and showed up. I was used to rowing by myself in my basement and the minute I met Kate and showed up to an event - I could tell immediately it was something I knew I needed to be more active in. Now I try and get there as many times a week as possible. I love that my wife and daughter will join me too!
How has being a member of FVRM impacted your life?
Being active in Fully Vested Recovery Movement has helped me become a better human. It has helped me be a better friend, dad, husband. It has impacted every aspect of my life for the better.
What is your favorite memory who have of being a part of FVRM?
One of the best memories I have of being a part of FVRM is doing a competition over Labor Day weekend in 2023 with my wife. We got to partner together for this comp with other Fully Vested community members and it was an absolute blast!
Any suggestions or advice you would give to anyone hesitant on coming to a FVRM event?
I think people should know that there is something for EVERYONE. It doesn’t matter what skill level you are. People should know that you are not alone and among friends who 100% authentically care and support you. It’s one of the best feelings - you just need to walk in the door!
What’s your favorite lift/movement?
I love me a heavy Power Clean!
